Portugal: bullfight spectators number 2014

Bullfight spectators number in Portugal in 2014 was 454000 spectators. 250 spectacles were held of which 66% were bullfights. Each bullfight had on the average 2240 spectators which is 95 spectators more in each bullfight in comparison with the year 2013. Portuguese theaters had on average audience of 126 spectators and movies an average audience of 22 spectators in the year 2014.

RTP1 television channel broadcast seven bullfights in 2014 comparison to three bullfights in the year 2013. RTP1 television channel bullfights were followed by more than three million spectators in the year 2014.

Bullfights were held 22 times in Albufeira, 11 times in Lisbon and 8 times in Angra do Heroismo and Vila Franca de Xira.

Aveiro bullring was 94% full in bullfights which is 38% more than in the year 2013, Braga and Guarda bullrings were 83% full in bullfights which is 26% more than in the year 2013 and in Bragança bullring was 79% full in bullfights which is 14% more than in the year 2013.

Club Taurino of London has awarded Miguel Ángel Perera as best bullfighter and Justo Hernández as best bullrancher of the bullfight season 2014. Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza was awarded as best rejoneador and José Garrido as best novillero of 2014.
