Spain: San Fermín 2016 bullranches announced

Pamplona San Fermín 2016 bullranches have been announced. Bullranches are: Pedraza de Yeltes, Cebada Gago, Nuñez del Cuvillo, José Escolar, Miura, Jandilla, Fuente Ymbro and Victoriano del Río.

Pedraza de Yeltes makes its debut in San Fermin in 2016.

Spain: more than 700000 seats sold to bullfights in Castilla y León in 2015

More then 700000 seats were sold to bullfights in Castilla y León in the 2015 bullfight season between second class bullrings, third class bullrings and portable bullrings where 375 bullfights and novilladas were held.
Bullfights are very important economical, ecological, and cultural factor in Castilla y León says secretary of culture José Rodríguez Sanz-Pastor. Bullfights move 850 million euros which has a direct impact on 13000 jobs.

Two out of three inhabitants of Castilla y León saw a bullfght on the season 2015.

Portugal: Campo Pequeno bullring has now own TV channel

Lisbon Campo Pequeno bullring is the first bullring with own TV channel, Campo Pequeño Televisión. Programs can be followed throught MEO and NOS platforms.

Bayonne bullfight season 2016 dates have been announced.

30.7.2016 : rejones bullfight.
31.7.2016 : bullfight.
15.8.2016: novillada w/o picadors and a bullfight.
3.9.2016: novillada w/o picadors and a bullfight.
4.9.2015: novillada and a bullfight.

A Goyesca bullfight is planned for the season 2016 but the date has not been announced as of yet.

Spain: Animal protection association fined in Zamora

Animal protection association Defensa Animal Zamora has been fined in Zamora for disorderly conduct, disobeyance and underestimation of authority in front of a bullring the past Easter Sunday. Fine was 250 Euros.

Spain: Bullfights can continue in Mallorca

Consell of Mallorca has declared Mallorca as anti-Bullfight area. Bullfights can continue however as Consell has no authority to ban bullfights in the island. Only Balearic Parliament can ban bullfights in the island. Ciudadanos and PP voted against the ban.
